This curriculum features a course specifically designed for advanced standing students to ensure a seamless transition into third- and fourth-year clinical and didactic courses. This approach provides students with a strong foundation in comprehensive patient care across all facets of general dentistry, as well as a thorough understanding of treatment protocols, materials, and techniques. National board notes
- Applicants must pass NBDE Parts I and II or Integrated National Board Examination (INBDE). If an interview is offered, submission of official NBDE or INBDE scores will be requested if not reported in the application.
TOEFL instructions
- All Advanced Standing Dental Program applicants must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Applicants must score at least a 5 or above on the new TOEFL scoring scale or 100 on the former TOEFL scoing scale on the internet-based test (iBT). Both scores will be reported from 2026-2028. The English Testing Service (ETS) Institution Code for UNMC is 6896. Only scores from TOEFL exams taken after Oct. 1, 2024, will be accepted. TOEFL Best Score reports are

Letters of evaluation
- Three Letters of Evaluation are required:
- One Letter of Evaluation must come from a former faculty member.
- Two Letters of Evaluation should come from former mentors or employers who can attest to character, conduct and professional ability of the applicant. (Letters must come from different writers.)
- Letters must be less than one year old.
- Letters must be written in English and signed by the letter writer on official letterhead with contact information (telephone number and email) on official school or organization/business letterhead.
This program does not publish a tuition figure in the CAAPID directory, and we refuse to print a guess next to a number as consequential as this one. Tuition, instrument kits, fees and living costs in Lincoln change every cycle.
