Minneapolis, MN 55455 The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry Program for Advanced Standing Students (UMN PASS) is a 29-month program for graduates of dental schools outside of the United States and Canada. Graduates earn their Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree to practice general dentistry in the United States. Also, UMN PASS is one of the only programs that prepares graduates to take the US and Canadian dental board examinations. A total of program so students receive the same clinical education as any other student graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry from the first day of classes. International dentists spend the first 8 months of the program in the afternoons as a small cohort gaining valuable clinical skills from renowned faculty. All instruction is , and incorporates leading dental techniques, skills, and tools. UMN PASS facilitates a smooth transition into the United States and Canadian dental professions with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree upon graduation.

- Submit Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) or NBDE Parts I and II examination results.
TOEFL instructions
- The UMN PASS program only accepts the internet-based Test (iBT) of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination results. Other requirements include the following:
- The TOEFL iBT is mandatory regardless of instruction in English or residency.
- Examination must have been completed within the last three years.
- The iBT total score must be 5 or above (legacy score of 94 or above)
- The iBT Home edition is accepted.
- MyBest scores are accepted.
Letters of evaluation
- 3 letters of recommendation are required as part of your ADEA CAAPID application. Have your evaluators submit their evaluation through ADEA CAAPID. The only limitation is that recommendations cannot be written by family members.
This program does not publish a tuition figure in the CAAPID directory, and we refuse to print a guess next to a number as consequential as this one. Tuition, instrument kits, fees and living costs in Minneapolis change every cycle.
